Domesticated cats can live on average for anywhere between 12 to 18 years.
Cats can sleep for anything between 12 and 20 hours per day. This can vary depending on the age – Kittens and senior cats will sleep longer – and how much physical exercise they get. If your cat is bored, or can’t get out to explore, it can sleep for longer in order to pass the time.
Cats are naturally nocturnal hunters, as the dark can keep them concealed while tracking down their prey. However, a domesticated cat will more than likely learn to adjust their sleeping habits in order to match their owner, as ultimately you will be responsible for providing them with food and drinks.
This may seem weird, but it actually makes a lot of sense. Being hunters, cats like confined spaces where nobody can sneak up on them, and cardboard boxes are closed in on 4 sides, with only the top exposed. This provides the cat with the peace of mind that nothing can sneak up on them without them seeing you first. Similarly, this is also why cats love office chairs so much.
Cats have a dislike for water because it weighs their fur down, leaving them less quick and agile than they would prefer to be. Cat’s noses are also quite sensitive to smell, so if there are any chemicals in the water, they can tell immediately,
Cats do love milk, but the truth is, that cow’s milk is actually bad for their health. Early on in kitten’s lives, they lose the ability to digest lactose, so feeding them the same milk we drink will upset their stomach. These are special cat milks you can buy that have a very low amount of lactose, or none at all, that will be safe for your cat to drink happily.
